These balms feel like a balm. These have a soft, cushiony texture but are soft enough to melt or if applied haphazardly. One swipe gives me light coverage. 2-3 swipes give you medium-to-opaque pigmentation. The buildable coverage is great because it allows me to easily adjust the intensity of my lipstick color throughout the day. My lips start out slightly shiny, but then it becomes more satiny after a while. This lipstick doesn’t have a glossy finish like other balmy lipsticks from Pat McGrath or YSL. While I love the glossy look, it’s nice to have a matte option.

The slight staining effect I get with darker shades lasts slightly longer. Even with the other balms like lipsticks, I get only about two hours of wear.

This formula is really impressive after using it several times. It is difficult to find a formula that provides accurate moisture, nourishment, and decent wear time every day. These are very easy to wear. I have neutral colors that I can apply on the move, and deeper and more vibrant shades that make a statement.

There is a lot of overlap between the shade ranges of Armanis lip products, so if your favorite shade is already in use, you may be able to find one similar in this formula.

Since I wear all of these colors regularly, it’s difficult to choose my favorite shade. If I had to pick, 106,202, and 205 would be my top choices. This formula is so good that my lips feel more moisturized after I’ve swatched all 10 shades.

I also compared the Lip Maestro shades that overlap with my Lip Power shades. The Lip Maestro is available in three shades: 200, 400, and 405. The shades are identical, but the intensity of Lip Maestro’s lipstick is higher than Lip Powers’ creamy, more transparent formula.
